WhoseNight was built to keep your family's information out of anyone else's hands, including ours. Here is exactly what happens with your data, in plain language.

No account, no problem

WhoseNight works fully without creating an account. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to sign in to just to use the app.

Your family's data lives on your device

Your schedule, your kids' names, your notes, your reminders: all of it is stored on your own iPhone. We do not have a copy, and we cannot see it, unless you specifically turn on sharing as described below.

What reaches our server, and when

Two things you do on purpose send your family's information to our server. Nothing else ever sends anything that could identify you or your family. (We do collect anonymous usage numbers, explained further down, but those are tied to a random id, never to you.)

If you subscribe to WhoseNight Family and turn on the Live Shared Calendar, the calendar content you choose to publish is sent to our server so the other home can view it. What gets published is limited to:

• Which days belong to which household
• Household labels you've set (for example, "Mom's" or "Dad's")
• Kid first names, exactly as you typed them
• Event titles you've added to the calendar

This shared calendar is stored under a long, unguessable random link. Nobody can find or view it without that exact link. Turning off sharing removes it from our server instantly.

If you send us a message from Help and Support, whatever you type is sent to our server so we can help you, along with your email address only if you choose to include one. The Help section's questions and answers are also loaded from our server, but that direction never sends anything about you or your family; it's the same public help text every user sees.

Kid photos never leave your device

If you add a photo for a child inside the app, it stays on your device. It is never uploaded, never included in the shared calendar, and never sent to us.

Anonymous usage, no ads, no trackers

WhoseNight shows no ads and includes no third-party trackers or advertising software of any kind. To know whether the app is actually helping families and where to make it better, we do collect anonymous, aggregate usage: things like how often the app is opened and which features get used. It is tied only to a random identifier created on your device, never to you, your Apple ID, your name, your schedule, or your kids, and it never includes any of that content. We do not know who you are, only that "someone" used a feature. You can turn this off anytime in Settings, under "Share anonymous usage," and we never share it with advertisers or data brokers.

We never sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else. Not ever, under any circumstances.

Subscriptions are handled by Apple

WhoseNight Family subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store. We never see your card number or any other payment details; Apple handles that entirely.

Shared calendar links are extra protected

Because a shared calendar link can identify a family, those links are excluded from our own server access logs. We do not keep a record of who visited a shared calendar link or when.

Deleting your data

If you have Live Shared Calendar turned on, stopping sharing removes that data from our server right away. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device. There is no account to close because there was never an account to begin with. For a step by step walkthrough, see Deleting your data.

If this policy changes

If our practices ever change, we will update this page and change the effective date above. We will not quietly start doing something this page says we don't do.
